We are thrilled to introduce Adam, our new Retail Brand Manager, who recently relocated to Brisbane from New Zealand. With an impressive international background and a passion for customer experience, Adam is already bringing fresh energy to our team.
Born in Shanghai and having lived in Switzerland, Adam’s journey has taken him across the globe. The biggest draw to Brisbane, however, was the city’s sunshine—something he's very excited to enjoy now that he's living in the sunshine state. After exploring other cities in Australia, Adam found Brisbane to be the perfect combination of warmth and a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere.
Before venturing into the car industry nine and a half years ago, Adam worked in hotels, but quickly realized it wasn’t the career path he was passionate about. He transitioned to Holden as a brand manager in Auckland, and later moved to Jaguar Land Rover, where he spent six years managing VIP customer experiences. Adam’s deep commitment to exceptional service and attention to detail in the premium car market makes him the perfect fit for Downtown Toyota.
For Adam, Toyota is the undisputed leader in the automotive industry. “Toyota is the number one car brand in the world,” he explains, noting its exceptional reliability and strong customer base. What stands out to Adam most, though, is the genuine passion that Toyota owners have for their cars. In fact, when Adam asked the Downtown Toyota sales team to share their favorite car brands, over 90% chose Toyota. This kind of loyalty, he believes, speaks volumes about the brand's trustworthiness and connection with its customers.
With experience across multiple brands, Adam has a deep appreciation for Toyota’s reputation. “Toyota is the #1 car brand in the world—not just in sales, but in customer loyalty,” he says. “At every dealership I’ve worked at before, when I asked the sales team what their favorite car was, they’d often name something outside of the brand. But at Downtown Toyota? Every single person picks a Toyota. That says a lot about the trust and pride in the product.”
Adam has been busy test-driving different models since joining the team. His current favorite? The new Toyota Prado. “It’s powerful, stylish, and versatile—perfect for a family trip, off-roading, towing a boat, or just a quick grocery run.”
One of Adam’s biggest goals at Downtown Toyota is to make every customer interaction exceptional. “Buying a car should be exciting, not stressful,” he says. “It’s a big moment—whether it’s your first car, your dream car, or the car you’ll make memories in with your family. I want every customer to walk away feeling like they’ve had an experience, not just a transaction.”
He also believes in keeping things fun—from dealership events to little surprises that make a customer’s day. “At the end of the day, cars bring people together. They take us to birthdays, road trips, soccer games, and school drop-offs. We’re not just selling cars—we’re helping people get where they need to be, safely and happily.”
Adam’s working style is centered around creating a sense of family and camaraderie. He’s passionate about fostering strong, positive relationships among the team, and he understands that mental well-being is just as important as physical health. He believes that when people are happy and feel cared for, they perform at their best.
Having led a running club at his previous job, Adam is already exploring ways to build team connections outside of work. Whether through casual events or one-on-ones with staff to discuss their passions and interests, Adam is dedicated to helping everyone on the team feel valued and supported.
When asked about his vision for Downtown Toyota, Adam has big plans. “We want to be the prestige Toyota everyone talks about,” he says. His goal is to establish a dealership known for exceptional customer experiences, a great team environment, and a sense of community. With the grand opening of our new showroom just around the corner, Adam’s leadership will be instrumental in shaping the future of Downtown Toyota.
